“All her days were written in Your book, before one of them came to be” Psalm 139
My mother in law peacefully passed away last night. We are so glad that she is out of pain and in a much better place. Yesterday, even while being so near death, she was able to communicate her love for all of us. But we miss her. We are so thankful for the last few months. Lots of memories and special times. Most of all, we are grateful for her life and all that she meant to us and all that she invested in us. We are grateful to God for all of the time we had together and trust in His loving kindness.
“All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.”

Praying for your family. I know you will miss her. I’m looking forward to Heaven, where we will never have to say goodbye again.
May the fullness of His presence be with your family. How you must miss her! What a dear lady. Rejoicing that she is at peace in the arms of Jesus.

Roberto and I are so sorry for your family’s loss. You have our deepest condolences.
So sorry for your loss, but I, too, believe that she is at peace, just like my mom.
Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! I pray the overwhelming peace and comfort of Holy Spirit surround your entire family now, and in the time to come.
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I’m thinking of you and your family.
So sorry for your loss — she sounded like an amazing woman and I am so happy you were able to be with her in her last moments. My prayers are with you and your family.
This sweet lady has touched so many lives. I’m praising God for His work through her life and praying for His comfort in the family she’s leaving behind.

I’m praying for your family – while there is great comfort in knowing she lived such a full, rich life it doesn’t make the transition any easier.
I’ve been following your blog for a few months now and always look forward to each new post. I am so sorry to hear of your mother-in-law’s passing. I know you and your family will miss her greatly but what a great comfort to know she is with the Lord and that you’ll see her again someday. I pray for His peace to enfold you and for His comfort to surround you.
My condolences to you and your family. I have peeked at your wonderful blog off and on for the last few months not realizing you were related. Praying for peace.

My condolences to you and your family. I am sending you happy and healing thoughts during this difficult time.
What a beautiful tribute. You’re in my prayers.
I am so sorry for your loss. May your entire family feel the arms of our loving Savior surrounding each of you during this difficult time of “good-bye for now”. Praise God it is only for a season and you will have eternity with her. Sending love and prayers from South Carolina.
Although I never met your mother-in-law personally (I praised her influence in my life 2 summers ago, the same night your father-in-law generously gave my husband, a young pastor in Texas, a copy of Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology, as a parting gift after encouraging us at a friend’s church), she is one of the primary reasons I have been able to stay the course for 16 years of trusting God to be involved in the decisions we made about family life. I am grieving her “goodnight” as Joshua referred to her passing as, and pray for each of you often. Our 8 passionate children (5 of whom are now fully devoted followers of Christ, thanks in part to your in-laws, your husband and the twins, as well as Joshua and Shannon) and my ability to manage this busy household, are part of the fruit of her investment into mainstream Christian culture. To God be the glory for her precious heart for helping homemakers live lives of balance and joy.
I also look forward to enjoying your blog with my older culinary artsy daughters, as nourishing foods on a budget is a big part of our world, as well.
When is your baby due? We’d love to pray for your pregnancy and birth…
Kimi – my prayers & thoughts are with your family. May the fact of the open tomb bring you great comfort.
I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
We will miss Sono here on this earth and look forward to our reunion with her in Heaven. May you have faith and peace until that time. I am sorry for your loss of her earthly influence on your life. She will greatly missed but not forgotten.
The Cooper family
Sono was such an amazing woman of God. Even though I didn’t know her as well as many did, she had a large and wonderful impact on my life. She had a passionate love for her Lord and her family, and for just about everyone she met (it seemed to me). She lived a very profound life. I know you and your husband must miss her terribly. We are very sorry for your loss. You, your husband and the rest of the family will be in our prayers.
Love, the Williamson family
I am so sorry for your loss. I have not been logging on much, but as I did today, I send condolences to you and your family. May the Lord Jesus grant you His peace and comfort now and in times to come.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family.
Lindsey @ The Herbangardener
My heart goes out to you and to Joel and his family. Sono is out of her pain, and yet grief is just so hard. My deepest sympathy during this difficult transition time.
Kimi, my condolences. Sending you good thoughts and please remember to take care of yourself during this difficult time.
Right now, the changes in your lives, are probably dominant. When the time is right for you and your loved ones, those beautiful memories will keep Sono with you, at all times.
May all her goodness shine on you.
Will be praying for you and your family. I read your blog regularly and was saddened by the news of her passing. God bless you all and give you strength.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Sending prayers to your family.
Thank you for the ways you honored and respected her with your words. Thank God this world is not all that there is…we have HOPE!
What a beautiful write up–brought tears to my eyes. Perfect verse. I love the quote from CS Lewis. May God continue to bring healing to your family. (I read/follow your blog regularly but don’t comment much.)
We are keeping you and your family in prayer. What a blessing to have hope in Jesus! The picture that you posted is just beautiful. May the Lord bring you all comfort and peace.
I’m so very sorry. She was a truly beautiful woman. She will be greatly missed.
Kimi, I am so glad your mom in law is no longer in pain but grieve for the physical loss of her presence you all are experiencing. My mom and dad died a few years ago and I remember that raw feeling of missing being able to hug and kiss them and just hear their voices.
I wish her peace on her journey onward and upward!
