Every year my great grandpa would send my family some type of gift package. Many years it contained sausages, cheeses and crackers and sometimes applets and cotlets too (I am going to try to make my own this year!). Christmas doesn’t seem quite the same since we stopped getting those packages. My great Grandpa passed away last year and we miss him.
So when I was at the Wise Traditions Conference and sampled some of US Wellness sausages I thought of him and his Christmas packages and knew I had to try to do a holiday giveaway with them. Their grass fed beef is some of the best, most nourishing beef around! And it’s very delicious too. I am so glad that they graciously agreed to do the giveaway. I am just jealous that I can’t win my own giveaway! Not only did they put together some fabulous sausages and raw cheeses, but they plumped the deal up with short ribs, beef snacks sticks, and tallow shortening (perfect for pie crusts)!
One lucky person is going to make out like a bandit!
But if you don’t win, don’t despair. You can do what I will be doing and order your own using the coupon code (15 percent off!) which I will give when the winner is announced. I really think that these grass fed sausages and meats, cheese (and tallow shortening, which I will be discussing in a second) make fabulous gifts, party foods, and everyday busy life food too! So nutritious and so delicious too.
Here’s a run down of what’s in the gift basket. And like I mentioned already, many of these items would make excellent gifts (anyone want to send me a few?).
I decided to go ahead and include their descriptions of the products, since I haven’t tried all of them.
Raw Amish Garlic and Chive Goat Cheese
“Once you start eating our new Garlic and Chives Goat Cheddar Cheese you won’t put it down! This cheese is impossible to stop eating it until it’s gone! Each vacuum sealed package averages 8 ounces.
Ingredients: unpasteurized goat milk, vegetable rennet, sea salt, garlic, chives, culture”
Raw Havarti Cheese
“Raw Havarti grass-fed cheese is produced from Jersey cows at an Amish grass-fed dairy in Indiana and is absolutely wonderful. Being new to Havarti, the US Wellness staff immediately put it on the must sell list after taste testing. Each wedge weighs in at an average of 10.5 ounces. Wedges will vary slightly as the product is hand sliced prior to vacuum packaging.”
Beef Snack Sticks Beef Snack Sticks Nitrate and MSG Free
These grass fed snack sticks are very delicious! A hit with both adults and kids. They also don’t contain any nitrates, gluten, corn syrup or msg. Ingredients: beef, water, sea salt, black pepper, red pepper, garlic, coriander
Tallow Shortening
Once upon a time tallow (rendered beef fat) was used to make the very best pie crusts as well as in everyday cooking and in the deep fryer. McDonald’s used beef tallow to make their potato chips until 1983. It’s been replaced with genetically modified modern vegetable oils and hydrogenated fats. Isn’t that so sad?
Well, you don’t have to put up with it anymore! As part of this holiday giveaway, you will get a container full of ready to use tallow.
Sausages
Like I said, I sampled a lot of their sausages at the conference and they were all so good! Yes, even the ones that contained liver! This is an excellent way to eat liver if you aren’t fond of it. I am fairly sensitive to the taste of liver, and I really enjoyed them. What a nutritious easy meal too! This would be worth keeping around for last minute snacks or meals! Next time I am pregnant I am going to stock up on these for sure.
Salami
“With just one taste of our new salami, you’ll be hooked! Our all beef salami is ready-to-eat and has a great spicy kick. We’ve altered our recipe to include xylitol instead of sugar and have maintained the same delicious flavor in the process. Each package is 8 ounces.
Ingredients: beef, water, Celtic sea salt, non allergenic spices, xylitol, garlic powder”
Head Cheese Sausage:
“U.S. Wellness Head Cheese is an interesting mix of grass-fed beef heart, tongue, and beef trim. This fully cooked product is ready to slice and serve.
Head cheese delivers in a one pound sausage style package with a robust organ flavor packed full of healthy organ nutrients.
Ingredients: beef, beef heart, beef tongue, water, sea salt, onion powder, white pepper, marjoram, allspice”
Liverwurst
“Liverwurst is a mixture of grass-fed beef trim (30%),liver (30%), heart (20%) and kidney (20%). This is a rare opportunity to purchase grass-fed organ sausage.
Ingredients: beef, beef liver, beef kidneys, beef heart, water, sea salt, onion powder, honey, white pepper, coriander, marjoram, allspice “
2 packages of BBQ Short Ribs with All Natural BBQ Sauce
These short ribs are perfect for busy times (like this time of year) as they come precooked, all you need to do is reheat them!

Just wondering… would like to know more about beef tallow. It just doesn’t sound that healthy to me.
Great give-away though!
KimiHarris
Madeleine,
I personally consider saturated fat a necessary and good fat for us. I know that it flies in the face of contemporary advice. 🙂 For more research on the topic, check out westonaprice.org. You will find plenty of information there.

Is there any reason why I wouldn’t be able to see the link for the giveaway? I have no clue how to enter, so perhaps it’s being blocked by my computer somehow. Any thoughts, Kimi? 🙂
KimiHarris
It’s probably because you live out of the US. Sorry! I am pretty sure that they only want to ship to the US (I actually forgot to ask, a huge oversight on my part).
Melanie
I’m unable to see the link as well, has it expired?
KimiHarris
Melanie,
It’s still there! Do you live in the US? Some of the sponsors have it set to only show to people who live in the US. Otherwise, it could be an ad blocker on your browser (shut it off in your preference menu). Some readers mentioned that it showed up in some browsers, but not all. Kind of a pain, I just don’t know how to fix it!
V
Indeed, it was my ad-blocker preventing me from seeing the link. I might have cried had you not mentioned it to Melanie, KimiHarris. 😉

It would be a wonderful gift to win given how I’m struggling to eat enough protein regularly as someone who’s conscioius about eating meat and on a limited budget.
Kim
This give-away sounds wonderful! My family & I try to eat meats from farms that practice grass-fed & free range with their animals.
Fingers crossed……

Not sure exactly what to do with the tallow, but I am sure NT has a recipe!
Yummy, Amish cheese, now to make some sprouted wheat crackers to go with.
Paula
Thanks for the opportunity. Right now, we are eating down our freezer to get grass-finished beef. This would be a welcome addition.

hi kimi,
i’ve been on the lookout for locally made liverwurst sausage (stuff other than the corn syrup laden store bought stuff…). my hopes were high as i looked at the us wellness meats website. oh how i would love to order MANY things from them. but, it’s a $75 minimum and they don’t ship to alaska. 🙁 such a bummer. i found one local meat shop here that makes liverwurst, but they put dried milk powder and sodium nitrate in it. i want to stay away from both of those things, but would my benefit of beef and pork liver (or was it pork and beef liver?) from pigs and cows (who i am not sure lived a happy properly well-fed life) out weigh the bad. i’m kind of doubting it as i type. but, i would love your input. do you have a good source of liverwurst sausage? i could see my family enjoying that kind of thing on a sandwich with homemade lf mayo and sourdough. maybe i should just try to make a homemade pate instead…
i would love to hear back from you! thanks, kimi!
