One of the things that I have loved about the blogging world is getting more exposure to a wide variety of perspectives. It has certainly been mind-stretching. How we look at food can be so limited at times, so I have long loved reading others food blogs for their creative inspiration to me. I have gotten so many good ideas from others.
That is why you will be seeing some contributors post their recipes and thoughts with you here at The Nourishing Gourmet too! But don’t worry. I will be blogging just as much, I am just inviting some blogging friends to share recipes with my readers as well. I think it is so cool that my contributors (all will be sharing once a month with you) come from a wide variety of backgrounds, are in a variety of seasons of life, and have a variety of eating preferences. This means that while all of the recipes shared will be nourishing, the recipes here can serve a broader base than just my recipes alone. And I think it’s just plain fun that some of us live in the city, some in the country, some in suburbs, and some out of the country. How cool is it that there is so much diversity even in where we live?!
I am having to avoid many foods right now, including not just gluten and dairy, but also eggs, almonds, some fruits, and some seeds. It’s a real pain, and does limit my menu a bit. I am so thankful that my friends will be filling in the gaps here on the blog. For example, Madey’s amazing frittata recipe would never have come from my kitchen right now because of my egg issue. These are the type of recipes that are too good to miss out on.
So, I hope you join me in welcoming these lovely ladies to The Nourishing Gourmet team. Head over to the contributor page now to read more about them.
Good things are coming, just you wait!

I have been avoiding the same foods as you! Have you read about the latex-fruit allergy link? I think that might be my issue. The fruits really surprised me. When fruits are unripe when picked it becomes a problem. I thought I would share 🙂 Thanks for the great blog!

It’s challenging knowing that some foods while they are healthy and nutrient dense are foods that need to be avoided because of some kind of intolerance. Please know that you are not alone. My family and I are in the same boat. And, it is a real pain especially, in social circumstances.
