I hope you are all ready for some serious kitchen cleaning! This upcoming Monday is the start of our Spring Cleaning frenzy in the kitchen where we will be tackling one area of the kitchen every week and organizing and cleaning it. Here’s the schedule.
- Week One: Refrigerator and Freezer
Week Two: Pantry or Food Cupboard
Week Three: Pots and Pans and One Cupboard
Week Four: The Rest of Your Cupboards
Week Five: Spices and Utensils
I will post on Monday and you have until the following Monday to complete the task and comment or post about your progress.
While the rewards of having a well ordered kitchen is more than enough of a reward, to sweeten the deal, some of my sponsors have generously given some really awesome incentive rewards for those who participate in the carnival. Each time you participate, either as a blogger (using the Mr. Linky) or as reader in the comment section, you are entered into the drawing for these giveaways. How cool is that?
Let’s take a look at what you have the chance to win.
First, Julie from
is offering you one free culture of choice ($11.99 value), such as one of her fabulous sourdoughs, or kombucha mushrooms, water or milk kefir grains, or yogurt starters (she has super easy to use ones that work with raw milk too!). This is a great opportunity to expand your collection of cultures.
Then,
is offering a delicious combo of raw cheese and sausage! I just ordered a pretty large order of sausages from them and have loved everything I’ve tried so far. This grass fed beef is high quality and delicious and they have everything from salami and summer sausage to liverwurst. Their raw cheese also sounds amazing and they carry many different types. They are offering a one sausage and one raw cheese combo to one lucky winner. The value of this varies a little depending on what sausage you choose, but the package is worth about 20 dollars.
Marilyn from is giving away two amazing eco friendly easy to use cleaning tools. These cloths will last you a long time.
The Antibacterial Enviro Cloth (value $14.50) is super cool because all you need to do is use a little water and wipe and you will pick up 99 percent of germs from smooth surfaces! “The antibacterial Enviro Cloth is a multipurpose cleaning cloth which can be used dry or damp for cleaning walls, tiles, bathtubs, counters, metal surfaces, car interiors and more. The unique anti-bacterial cloth prevents cross contamination, traps germs inside the cloth and destroys them within a few hours. Clean these cloths by simply wringing it out and hanging to dry. Keep one in the bath, one in the kitchen, and one in the car or laundry.”
The Antibac Window Cloth (Polishing Cloth), worth $16.99, is also antibacterial but is especially made for cleaning glass. Once again, you only need to use water to use it.” The Antibac Window Cloth allows you to clean your windows, mirrors, and shiny surfaces with water alone. Clean dirty surface first with a moist Enviro Cloth then polish with the Window cloth for a guaranteed streak-free surface. On less dirty surfaces you can spray water on the surface and polish with the Window Cloth alone.
We tried this on a window with the sun shining on it. With substantially less effort the windows had no streaks. If you dislike window washing like I do, you will be delighted to obtain an effective cleaning cloth requiring less work.”
Chris from is giving away a 375 ml bottle of their amazing olive oil ($8.50 value). Their olives are grown on some of the oldest olive trees in California. The type of olive they use makes a tremendously mild olive oil. One of my favorite all time olive oils that is mild enough to make a good mayo! This is a great chance to try it for yourself. I personally love this olive oil.
And then, Joanna from has generously offered one participate a 25 dollar gift certificate to go towards perfume, makeup, toothpaste, or any of amazing spa quality products she sells. Not only are these products high quality using organic ingredients but they also are free from the preservatives and chemicals so bad for us and the environment. What an excellent way to try out one or more of these great products.
Thanks to everyone who offered these great giveaways (and as always click throughs to our sponsors give me a small commission, so if you want to support this blog, support my sponsors!).
I hope to see all of you on Monday!

thank you so much for this. I am so overwhelmed with all there is to do in organizing and cleaning my home! I have four beautiful kids (6,4,2 and 1 today!) and am homeschooling too. sometimes it seems impossible to even begin to think about taking time to clean out my fridge. this honestly makes me feel like I can do it and that by spring my home will be in a bit more order than it is now. I am truly thankful for this list. for some these tasks are silly and easy for others (like myself) it is just plain overwhelming. I need someone to help me simplify the tasks at hand. you are doing that! I thank you and my family thanks you! 🙂

Erin,
I can definitely relate. I have 4 kiddo’s ( 10,9,8and 3 ) and I also homeschool. I am hoping that this will help me fit in some extra cleaning time as well. The way I look at it is if we can homeschool 4 kids we can do anything 🙂

Okay, read the blog while on a break at work today, arrived home all excited to get crackin’, opened the refrigerator door, and saw the hamburger that I was supposed to make into jerky YESTERDAY, and decided that I had better change my plans for the evening! Taught the youngest daughter how to make jerky (some beef and some elk… I can’t wait for tomorrow!), and heated up some leftovers.
So… got SOME stuff out of the fridge! Still, have the rest of the way to go… and it ain’t happenin’ tonight! I’m not particularly looking forward to the freezer, cuz it needs to be defrosted, but is in our garage (current temp out there: 28 degrees). We do need to make room for some cow: we were hoping to get a side of beef this month. Hmmm… Gonna go see if I can find where I left my resolve!

I appreciated the suggestion of wiping down a shelf at a time. Thanks for the motivation.

Just found this great site today when I was looking for dairy free coconut milk ice cream recipes. Just started my 4 yr old son, 11 days ago, on a dairy free diet to test if a dairy allergy is causing his middle ear fluid. This looks like a wonder site for all types of recipes. I also Love chocolate recipes and am always looking for healthy chocolate treats. Now it looks like I have a job for tomorrow of cleaning out the fridge. The shelves have been a bit sticky.
Thanks!
Cornelia
My fridge got a wipe-down this weekend, too. The scariest part is always the very bottom under the crisper drawers. How does stuff even get down there?

I’m in the process of organizing our pantry to be more efficient with it’s space. This is a great encouragement for me. Thanks! 😀
