How do you introduce a young soul to the world? This little bundle of sweetness joined us for her first venture outside the womb this last Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. She is pure cuteness. And as always you find your heart expanding with plenty of room to love another child. I love her dearly.

She is doing very well (her discharge papers noted that she did “exceedingly well” during our two day stay), and I am slowly recovering. I typically have longer recovery times after labor and delivery. And we are happy.

Larkin with us an hour or two after birth after lots of skin to skin time with mommy!

For those wanting to know details, she was 7 pound 5 ounces when born (my biggest baby!) and 20 inches long. I was having contractions here and there for a week and a couple of days, and I wondered how long it was going to take to really kick into gear, when my labor suddenly and rapidly took off. My contractions went from here and there, to ten minutes apart, to minutes part in a short hour. We raced off to the hospital, and she was laid on my chest about a half and hour after arrival. It was very surreal in a wonderful sort of way.

Since I am going to be busy in a new way this next while, look for some lovely guest posts coming your way! And, just because I can’t help myself, I may do a couple of baby related posts as well. 😉

Many congratulations. I hope you recover quickly. With my last baby I went from zero contractions to all the contractions at once and snuggling my sweet baby boy in less than two hours. It was incredibly intense!

She’s gorgeous. I love her petite features. I can relate to this birth – my now 18mo old came 25 minutes after I arrived at our hospital. It was crazy but awesome! Congratulations!
