Today is the very last day to buy my book, Fresh: Nourishing Salads for all Seasons with the discount codes! Buy now to save up to 40%!
I like to welcome in the New Year with plans and goals (and resolutions, if you will). I don’t take resolutions to be tyrants, or goals to be slave-masters. Rather, I view them as guideposts to what my goals are. Sometimes my path passes each guidepost, sometimes my guideposts change with differing circumstances or new ideas. But having those goals give guidance to me and help me remember what I want so that my hopes and plans aren’t forgotten.

Today is the start of our carnival sharing our plans and goals for the new year. What do you hope to accomplish? What health goals, or food goals do you have?

Make sure you read my tips here on making resolutions you can keep. I have personally found making goals very helpful. Posting them here allows me online accountability too.

I’d love to have you join!

I will be posting my goals later today. I am leaning towards having one specific goal for each month. Meanwhile, feel free to share yours in the comment section of this post, or linking to your blog post with the Mr. Linky.

I love beautiful and simple food that is nourishing to the body and the soul. I wrote Fresh: Nourishing Salads for All Seasons and Ladled: Nourishing Soups for All Seasons as another outlet of sharing this love of mine. I also love sharing practical tips on how to make a real food diet work on a real life budget. Find me online elsewhere by clicking on the icons below!

Thank you Kimi and happy new year! I’m starting with cod liver oil, but eventually making my way to consistent veggies and stock. And flossing at some point – my resolution every year.

My creative resolution for 2012: write every day. (I’m blogging to keep myself honest on this one!)

My health/budget/eco-resolution for 2012: stop throwing away food.

Somehow my link above went to the incorrect post. Here’s the right one, to keep myself accountable. 🙂 http://jennutrition.wordpress.com/2012/01/02/my-new-years-resolution-eat-more-organ-meats/

I decided that this year I’m going to make monthly goals rather than goals for the whole year…that was just too overwhelming for me. So I linked up my January goals. They’re mostly simple and fun. I plan on having a specific health goal for each month and January’s is very simple–drink more water!

    Hi and thanks for hosting.

Making sustainable changes to how we live and who we are is not about having all the answers resolved and a will of steel to carry them out. Instead, it’s about recognizing the patterns in our lives, and rewriting them.

In the post I’ve shared, I give tips not just on setting reasonable and attainable goals, but getting to the heart of what it is to confront the demons that got us where we are in the first place.

As for me? I’ve recognized that I’ve let my feelings of inadequacy prevent me from fully enjoying my life. I’ve missed having friends over because our house is far from perfect and in need of repair. I’ve avoided publicizing my blog and business because I didn’t have my logo right, or a good pictures.

So this year I’ll be having friends over more often – even if the house or yard is a mess. And I’ll be publishing blogs like this one – that don’t come close to meeting my personal standards.

I actually started with these New Year’s Recognitions a bit early, and the past few weeks have been more joyful than I’d hoped. 2012 is going to be a very good year 🙂

I’m sharing a trio of posts that are all related to my 30 Day GAPS Challenge, starting with my most recent one about how I am doing an ebook giveaway for the “What Can I Eat Now? 30 Day on the GAPS Intro Diet” ebook. It’s perfect to go along with my 30-Day GAPS Challenge!

I am trying to be more aware and present, especially regarding food!

This was a great idea! You inspired me to write my own post about new year’s goals. And funny – I also ended up just doing goals for the first three months, too. We’re on GAPS and I feel like I’m constantly researching and learning new things that might help us, so I think it will be good to only plan a few months out. Thanks for hosting!
