I have been enjoying working with fall food again. There is something so comforting and beautiful about it. The warm spices, the creamy comfort food, the hot soup, the squashes, pumpkins, and apples are all favorites of mine.
This year I will be sharing more fall recipes (some coming up this week), but I’ve also been enjoying making recipes from the past few years. Here are some of my recipes from the archives. Enjoy.
This soup is simple to make, beautiful with contrasting colors and packed with flavor. A favorite of everyone in my family.
Rich and creamy with the wonderful warming spices of garam masala, this is a soup we make often. It’s so frugal too!
A lovely way to use in season squash. Paired with potatoes, vegetables and sausage, this is a warming soup for a chilly evening.
This soup has a garlicky broth with little specks of oregano floating among the beans, and a beautiful reddish tint from tomato paste. And, in contrast to the beans, gently simmered dark greens. Delicious and nutritious!

A fun way to make fries and so much more nutritious too! These baked fries are softer than potato fries and sweeter too. Made from butternut squash, they are even safe for many people on special diets! We make them when we are on the GAPS diet, or when we aren’t.
Super flavorful potatoes, these are fun to serve for dinner, brunch or breakfast along side scrambled eggs and sausage.
SO fun. This recipe was sent to me by a reader and we’ve all loved it! Dried apples and sage flavor the sausage for a lovely fall flavor.
A great way to start the day is to wake up to a crockpot full of hot cereal! And yes, it’s soaked! Fall may be beautiful but it’s also busy, this gives you a head start in the morning.

Fresh chestnuts are in season right now and if you’ve never had freshly roasted ones you are missing out. Last year, these became a great favorite of ours. A traditional snack or part of the meal.
