I can’t believe it! It’s Christmas Eve. It’s amazing how quickly time goes by. I have to run to the store before it closes, decide the final menu for tomorrow, and do some cleaning. But before I head off, here are a few ideas for those still wanting a few recipe ideas for tomorrow.
Breakfast Foods:
Fluffy Whole Wheat Pancakes. These pancakes are light and fluffy, and soaked for better nutrition.
Fluffy Biscuits: Another soaked whole wheat recipe. These are delicious! They will probably be on my menu tomorrow.
Mango Orange Smoothie: This is a terrific smoothie. So delicious. It would make a great start to the day on Christmas.
Turkey or Chicken Apple Sausage: Super easy to throw together and very delicious.
Gingerbread Muffins:Who doesn’t need a little more spice?
Delicious Pan Fried Apples: This simple dish makes the best apples. Serve it on pancakes, serve it alone or with whipped cream. It’s all good.
Herbed Baked Eggs: Surprisingly easy to make and a special way to make eggs.
Sides:
Delicious Liver Patรฉ: Nutrient dense, rich and delicious.
Long Simmered Green Beans: Our traditional recipe. Sooo good.
Creamy Cranberry Salad: A favorite for both the young and the old.
Gingered Sweet Potatoes: A delicious guest post that would be perfect for the holidays.
Turnip and Squash Gratin This guest post has gotten rave reviews from other readers!
Garlic and Rosemary Roasted Root Vegetables: So simple, but so flavorful.
Cookies:
Scottish Shortbread Cookies
Spiced Macaroons (Gluten and Dairy Free)
Flourless Nut Butter Cookies (Gluten and Dairy Free)
Russian Gingerbread Thumb Print Cookies
Sweet Almond Cookies (Gluten and Dairy free)
And I can’t leave without mentioning one last recipe, Creamy Orange Curd. Sweet, creamy, delicious, yumminess. Perfect for this time of year.
And now it’s off to the store! A very Merry Christmas to everyone out there in blogland and a Happy New Year!

I just made your fluffy whole wheat pancakes for my husband side of the family this morning. Everyone loved them, even the kids even though they were whole wheat. Thank you so much for this recipe. I will never make another pancake recipe.

I hope it’s okay to link my herbed gravy post here. It is an excellent vegetarian gravy that goes well on stuffing, potatoes, yams, etc. I thought it might be a nice addition to your Christmas recipes, speaking of which those baked herbed eggs sound perfect for us on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas! http://www.breastfeedingmomsunite.com/2009/12/gravy-when-old-traditions-meet-new/

We have fried apples for either Christmas morning or Christmas evening. Thanks for the list…after eating our Christmas meal and feeling bloated and 100 lbs heavier, next year we may make more healthier foods like these. Thanks.
