I’ve given you some ideas for Christmas gifts through my giveaways (Wondermill Grain Mill, US Wellness Meats, Nourishing “Must Read” Books, and Sprouted Flour for holiday baking). But today I wanted to give five last minute gift ideas. I actually had a very large list, but felt like I should narrow it down a little more. Here’s what I came up with.

icecreammaker

Ice Cream Maker

Starting with a very fun Christmas gift, an electric ice cream maker with a frozen insert allows to very easily make your own nourishing ice creams. There is nothing as simple and as delicious as homemade ice cream! We were given this model, Cuisinart 1-1/2-Quart Automatic Ice Cream Makers
from Joel’s parents several years ago and have been enjoying it ever since. For dairy free people, The Ice Dream Cookbook is a lovely book using coconut milk.

Bosch Mixer

This machine is especially for the bakers who make bread on a consistent basis. You can easily make four loaves at a time in it and it does all of the work for you. It takes out most of the work of making your own bread!  I got one when we first got married and love it. One of our sponsors carries it for a very reasonable price.

bamboocuttingboard

Bamboo Spoons and Cutting Boards

Bamboo is harder than most woods and so is very durable. One dear lady gave a bunch of us young married couples a set of bamboo cutting boards when we got married and I think all us have loved them. I know that I have! I especially like the larger sizes. However bamboo can be expensive. But I was able to find this one, Wüsthof Bamboo Cutting Board
for one ten dollars and this set for fifteen dollars, Totally Bamboo Bamboo Cutting Board Set, 3-Board Set. And this set of bamboo utensils is only $15, Ginson Bamboo 6-Piece Kitchen Utensil Set.

Organic Perfume

One of our new sponsors, Actual Organics, carries a line of organic perfumes that use essential oils. They sound amazing! My next perfume purchase is definitely going to be from them. They do have a sample set that you can buy of all of their scents so that you can figure out which one you like the best. Now that would make a great gift! It may seem like “overkill” to care about getting organic perfume, but it’s actually important because what’s in a lot of perfume is not good for you. Remember that what you put on your skin is almost as important as what you eat. I have given up wearing perfume for long periods of time because I feel that some perfumes are so toxic. It’s so nice to know that there is another option!

Norwex Enviro Home Cleaning Products

Urban Homemaker, who is giving away the Wondermill Grain Mill, also carries the Norwex Enviro Home Cleaning Products. The line includes bigger items, like mops and smaller items, like cleaning clothes ( glass cleaning cloth you just use water with it and it works great!). I haven’t tried them yet, but they have gotten rave reviews from others. Why do I include this as a gift idea? Because they will save you time and money (as well as clean your home without chemicals) so that you have more time to do other things. That’s a gift worth getting and I know that I wouldn’t mind seeing it under the Christmas tree!

There are some of my ideas. What about you? What do you want yourself or suggest as gift ideas?

The ice cream maker is a great idea! I think I’ll get one for my mom. The perfume sounds good too. I’ll check them out. Thanks! And the Bosch… that’s a dream of mine:) Do you have the one that grinds the flour also?

I’d really like some of those glass straws you posted about a few months ago. I have been thinking about them ever since!

I love my Cuisinart ice cream maker. I found a second one at a thrift store for $6 — it looked like it had never been used! So keep an eye out, all of you who are (like me) thrift-store junkies!

I have used a Bosch for 35 years and love it. (I’ve owned 2. the first one was used. They last forever.) I wish I could find another ice cream maker attachment.

We just used our ice cream maker today! I made dairy free coconut milk ice cream with almonds, dark chocolate, and coconut flakes for toppings. Mmmmmm!

We have LOVED our Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker from the moment we got it! It’s been happily supplying our family of 6 with nourishing ice cream and frozen yogurt for several years now and I highly recommend it to all! I also love our Bamboo kitchen accessories and cutting board – that thing is a power horse the way it holds up to my daily use! 😉 I’m going to check out the organic perfume link you have shared Kimi – thank so much for that. . . I miss wearing perfume but can’t bring myself to have the chemicals on my body, especially since I’ve pretty much been nursing our precious blessings during the last 7yrs and you don’t want that on them or to have them breathing it in. Since our youngest is now weaned I’ve been thinking of a solution to my ‘perfume dilemna’ – this may be the answer – thank you sweet friend! 🙂
    Merry CHRISTmas all!

I found that exact ice cream maker @ the Goodwill back in October. It even had the box & instructions included. I kept it a secret to “surprise” my dh for his birthday in November. Our favorite thing so far is frozen Greek yogurt. IMO it’s better than the ice cream.

Now, to find a Vitamix, Borscht mixer, Excalibur dehydrator and a grain mill…..LOL

I like the idea of the ice cream maker. Now, would it be possible to share some recipes? I would like some dairy free recipes.

Is the insert for the ice cream maker stainless steel or aluminum? I wish in the product description on Amazon it would include this information.
