A week from today, I will be hosting the Nourishing Portable Food Challenge, where I will provide a Mr. Linky for you to use to link to your posts sharing how you make portable food nourishing. You can also share ideas via the comment section. I am so thrilled to be able to host this and am hoping that I get a lot of great ideas for my husband’s lunches as he goes to college.
I thought I would give you a few ideas of recipes or tips that you could share with us all. I bet you have more to offer than you even think!
Some Recipe Ideas
Now would be a great time to share baked good recipes such as muffins, scones, power bar recipes, cookies. These are all portable and tasty. This would also be a great time to try to convert your favorite recipe into a soaked recipe!
How you make nourishing bread for sandwiches, and sandwich filling ideas would be wonderful as well. Remember that the goal is also nourishing, as well as portable. Those of you who have “soaked” bread recipes could definitely share your experience and tips in making soaked bread recipes.
Some Other ideas
But you don’t have to only share recipes. A list of products that you can buy in the store that are nourishing would be helpful as well. What if you don’t have time to cook? What nourishing bread do you buy at the store? How do you make simple lunches at the last minute? What do you have on hand for lunches? What sort of drinks to you pack?
Other topics could include how you make lunches for picky school kids, or make lunches special for a spouse. How do you make lunches easy enough to do everyday, without getting boring?
Another great topic would be for those of you who are able to send leftovers to work with your husband. How do you keep things warm? What do you just eat cold? What recipes do you like for this purpose?
All of these topics and recipe ideas would be wonderful additions to our carnival, though I am sure that there are a lot of ideas I missed as well. Please feel free to do more than one post for the carnival. I will start posting things at the beginning of the week, and link them on Wednesday to the Carnival. I will may even continue to post things after Wednesday to link to the carnival as well. Wednesday isn’t the deadline! Feel free to continue to add to it through the week!
And remember! You still have a week to experiment in the kitchen to come up with new and exciting things to share!
