The 100 Acre Classroom: Would it be amazing if all children learned how to garden, raise animals and preserve food as part of their schooling? This school sounds lovely, and I wish more children had the opportunity to attend schools such as this one.

Conflict of interest at the nutritionist’ annual Confab?: I’m behind the times as this article was published almost a year go, but just read it myself. I sure hope they are improving things this year! Read this snippet:

In “Bringing Affordable Healthier Food to Communities,” Walmart spokespeople sang the praises of (what else?) Walmart. After lunch, I attended “Sweeteners in Schools: Keeping Science First in a Controversial Discussion.” Sponsored by the Corn Refiners Association, whose members produce and sell high-fructose corn syrup, it included a panel composed of three of the trade group’s representatives.”
