Sweet and spicy cinnamon and tart apple mingle in a mug to create a delicious apple spice tea.
I love this time of year! As soon as Thanksgiving ends my mind turns towards the Advent and Christmas season. I am filled with such a sense of joy and expectation as I plan my intentional celebrations to celebrate our Savior’s birth. To keep things to a minimum, I prefer to focus on simple homemade gifts for most of my list.
Each year I try to come up with a new homemade gift that allows me to bless others and let them know that I am thinking of them. This tea is a simple and frugal way to do so! I mix apples that I have dehydrated with Ceylon cinnamon sticks and rooibos tea. For an extra bit of sweetness and cinnamon stir in a teaspoon of cinnamon infused honey.
Here is how to make your own simple apple spice tea gifts:
Apple Spice Tea Gift Jars
Supplies Needed: (Affiliate links)
- Apple Spice Tea (recipe below)
- Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks
- Rooibos Tea
- Cute jars with lids
- Twine or yarn
- Labels
Spoon tea into the jars. Screw on the lids. Write the name of the tea and brewing instructions (below) on a label. Tie your twine/yarn around the jar with a cute bow to finish.
Apple Spice Tea
2 cups dried apples, chopped
1 cup rooibos tea
6 Ceylon cinnamon sticks
1. Cut the dried apples into small pieces. Break the cinnamon sticks into small pieces
2. Mix the apples, cinnamon, and rooibos in a large jar or mixing bowl.
3. Pour equal amounts into small glass jars.
Steeping instructions:
1. Place one teaspoon in a strainer, pour boiling water over the tea and allow to steep for 5 to 10 minutes.
2. Remove the strainer. Add sweetener if desired. Vanilla stevia extract tastes delicious.
