Creamy and sweet ice cream is combined with effervescent apple cider or kombucha for a delicious treat that is both refreshing and decadent. When sparkling apple cider is paired with this Chai Coconut Milk Ice Cream, it’s a perfect marriage of spices, apple, and creaminess.
If you hadn’t noticed yet, while I do love my simple everyday food, I also love the quirky fun things that you can do with food as well! While some would consider our dietary considerations limiting, I see a wide scope for the imagination.
Growing up, I thought that root beer floats were heavenly food and paired perfectly with my party food favorite – pizza. Now I am afraid that I would find myself not only experiencing a stomachache after all of that dairy and sugar, but I simply couldn’t enjoy such junk food anymore. I’ve learned better how to listen to my body since my early years.
But I’ve also learned how to make my childhood favorites into nourishing versions that are fun, and keep us feeling good too! For example, this gluten-free pizza has quickly become a favorite in our home. Now all I need to do is pair it with homemade ice cream floats, and it’s party time!
And, like so many great ideas, I owe this one to Pinterest via many different bloggers. You know when so many are blogging about it, it’s a good idea! This doesn’t really need official instructions, but just to show you how it’s done, here is a photo tutorial. Just a few quick links different recipe ideas: This vanilla coconut ice cream would go well with the cider or kombucha, though the Chai ice cream remains a favorite. To make it really a special treat you could swirl a little homemade caramel sauce into it as well. I also tried it with ginger kombucha and found it delicious! Some of you will remember that I am a fan of kombucha ice cream floats. Really, the possibilities are endless here, as you can pair any sparkling beverage (think sparkling juices, water kefir, kombucha) with a wide variety of ice creams!
