Green Christmas Guide
I have been working hard the last couple of weeks looking for unique, practical, green, and free trade gifts to recommend to you all. This week, we will be busy getting ready for Thanksgiving and Black Friday is a big shopping day for many. So before you get all your shopping done, I thought I’d start sharing these fun ideas with you! Watch the video for more information.

Handmade Christmas Gifts
Secondly, I wanted to let you know that we will not be having our Pennywise Platter this Thursday, since it’s Thanksgiving day! But on the Thursday after, the first of December, I will be hosting a Homemade Gift Carnival! Whether it’s food gifts, or not, please come and share your gift ideas! I’d love for you to join in on this once a year treat. It’s always so much fun to see everyone’s ideas.

Happy Thanksgiving week, everyone!

I love beautiful and simple food that is nourishing to the body and the soul. I wrote Fresh: Nourishing Salads for All Seasons and Ladled: Nourishing Soups for All Seasons as another outlet of sharing this love of mine. I also love sharing practical tips on how to make a real food diet work on a real life budget. Find me online elsewhere by clicking on the icons below!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too!
Sounds like a great project! One of my favorite fair trade projects was started by my best friend who went to Haiti to adopt. After learning that most of the orphans there have parents who simply cannot feed their children they decided to start a project to provide jobs so that parents can keep their kids. They make beautiful jewelry out of recycled cereal boxes, oil drums, etc. They’ve got over 100 people employed now, and are also doing literacy work, feeding their artisans, etc. The jewelry is sold through home parties here in the US, and I’ve loved being able to be involved in that way. Each piece has a tag with the picture of the artisan, and they get the money directly from that piece, so there’s a personal connection. You can check it out at apparentproject.org and at markethaiti.com.
Sorry… not meaning to take over here; it’s just something I’m pretty excited about. I’ll look forward to hearing your recommendations too!
Blessings to you and your family this season!

So exciting! I love crafting and making Christmas gifts for loved ones, but a lot of times I come up blank for ideas (especially for guys). I can’t wait to see what others come up with. 🙂

I am so anxious… when can we expect the Guide? The very end of the video said “Coming November 21”, but that was today. Did I miss the link? Thanks Kimi for all you do!

Kimi is the bowl of the Cuisinart Ice Cream maker aluminum or stainless steel? It seems to me that when I called the company they told me it was aluminum? I would love to get an ice cream maker but have not yet found one that was not made of toxic material…Please advise…

I personally have not worried about that issue very much because you don’t heat anything in the ice cream maker. I doubt that any aluminum is getting in your ice cream. 🙂 But if you are worried about it, you can do homemade ice cream without an ice cream maker. It’s just a little more work. 🙂

Omg, I had to write to tell you about how incredible this bars are! I have been using them just a week now, they feel so good on my skin, they’re hard to stop using! But most amazing part is the way they made me feel, I truly did feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and love….out of nowhere it seems.. I suddenly started remembering people in my life I had not thought about in awhile and I called them to tell them how much I appreciated having them in my life.
