It has been an interesting last few days, with snow piling around our doorsteps, losing our power the last 18 hours, and the snow still coming fast. With no electricity, I wasn’t able to get on my computer to post my Merry Christmas post I was planning too, so this little short hello will have to do.
It was fun not having the distraction of the computer however. We ended up reading a few chapters of a favorite book out loud together with my sisters, which doesn’t generally happen.
We are currently busy trying to get our house together and pack for a planned Christmas trip with my family and extended family. It’s going to be interesting trying to get out of here with all of the snow, but we will be driving with my dad who is a truck driver, so we feel pretty safe.
We got a little behind in our packing because we were busy trying to save food from our freezer (our little freezer was defrosting without the electricity) and turning my unbaked bread into tortillas. We also had a fun time playing in the snow for a while.
(The wonder of seeing the first snow fall)
This Christmas will be “light” in gifts and money spent, but I hope it will be full of love and good cheer. I know that I am looking forward to spending time with family, making yummy food, and celebrating this Christmas together with those I hold dear. Our plans have been a little interrupted so far, and haven’t gone as we hoped, but that’s all part of the adventure I guess!
I may be able to check my email from where we are staying over Christmas, and may even squeeze a post or two in while gone, but I probably won’t be around quite as much as usual. So I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas and I am so looking forward to the New Year. I have a lot of plans for this blog for the new year, so stay tuned for more to come.
I was hoping to have a few more Christmas appropriate recipes up here before we left, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen before we leave. But there are still plenty of recipes to check out.

How is everyone else doing? Staying warm? Electricity on? Presents bought and wrapped? I would love to hear how your Christmas plans are coming!
