As usual last week we had so many great entries in our Pennywise Platter Carnival that it’s really hard to choose which ones to highlight! One that really stuck out to me was Lindsey’s Chocolate Dipped Candied Orange Peels. . I love how the recipe uses a food item that would normally be thrown away, [...]

What frugal and nourishing tips and recipes do you have for us today? Last week’s carnival was stuffed full of great recipes. Wow! I loved Wardeh’s post on making homemade beef jerky using ground beef (so cheap) and I loved Sarah’s recipe for sourdough crepes using starter without a soaking time period. So quick and [...]

Welcome back to another round of Pennywise Platter Thursday! I’ve decided go back to my old habit of highlighting a post from last week from one of you. I love being able to highlight one of your great posts one more time (even if it is hard to choose one to share). Today I wanted [...]

I don’t know about you, but breakfast can be the hardest meal for me to plan. The first disadvantage is that it’s in the morning. How are you supposed to fix something nice (and nourishing!) when everyone is running around getting ready for the day? Secondly, the meal can’t be late, like dinner, since there [...]

A common question I get is, "How can you afford to eat healthy food on a budget?". Many people want to make the change to nourishing and healthy food, but they feel they can't make the leap into healthy cooking for the simple reason that they can't afford it.

There are many things to say and many things to share about. I could talk about the real cost of food, supporting small farmers, and making life style changes to make buying better food possible, and I will get to those aspects soon. But I would like this upcoming carnival-happening on Friday- to focus on recipes that make nourishing food possible on a budget. I would love for you to be a part of it!
