Last week, Minneapolis Real Food Lover shared some helpful tips on how to buy frugally at food co-ops. And my friend, a fifteen year old chef in the making, entered our carnival for the first time with her yummy Coconut Curried Lentils over Tomatoes and Brown Rice. Make sure you check out her absolutely amazing photos and yummy recipes and say hi.

And now it’s time to share your nourishing frugal tips and recipes for this week!

    Hi Kimi!

It’s always a pleasure to join Pennywise Platter. I hope an abberation is okay…instead of a pennywise recipe, I’ve scoped out the best deals this week at New Seasons that our fellow Portland Area readers might enjoy. I have included coupon match-ups. Due to their 10 year anniversary, the store has slashed prices on many items making the deals hotter than ever! I get not kickback from New Seasons for doing so, but just thought I’d share!

    Hey Everyone.

I’m new this week. I’ve been a fan of your blog Kimi for a while but this is my first time posting to the Pennywise Platter!

My recipe for this week is Apple, Cinnamon & Oat Cookies (With Sprouted Wheat).

Hope you all enjoy it & thanks for hosting Kimmi 🙂

the lentils sound interesting, i’m still easing my way into coconut milk and curry. there are so many varieties, i’m sure i’ll find one i like. this week i’m sharing my frugal organic fruit purchase at costco. stocking up once a quarter supplies our 3x weekly lunch yogurt parfait habit. i’m also looking for advice on how to get started making my own yogurt, so if you have experience, i’d love to hear it!

Kimi, would you consider adding a category for seafood/fish in your listing? I’d like to follow your recent suggestion to incorporate more of these healthy foods, and a new category would make it easier to find recipes in links from past blog posts. Thanks!
